not marked as a favorite taxon Leptochloa virgata (Linnaeus) Palisot de Beauvois. Common name: Tropical Sprangletop. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Depression marshes, sinkholes, disturbed uplands and wetlands, also as a waif at wool-combing mill and on ballast at old seaports. Distribution: S. TX south to Argentina; s. FL; West Indies.
