Macbridea caroliniana (Walter) Blake. Common name: Carolina Birds-in-a-nest, Carolina Macbridea. Phenology: Jul-Nov. Habitat: Swamp forests, especially in sphagnous seepage areas away from direct flooding, savanna seepages, pine savanna, sandhill seepages, edges, ditches. Distribution: Se. NC to s. GA; reported but undocumented from n. FL, AL, and MS, apparently rare throughout its range.
