Malaxis

Malaxis spicata Swartz. Common name: Florida Adder's-mouth. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Maritime swamp forests, calcareous but mucky swamps in the outer Coastal Plain, spring-fed swamps, wet hammocks. Distribution: Se. VA south to FL; n. West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica).
