Marshallia ramosa Beadle & F.E. Boynton. Common name: Pineland Barbara's-buttons, Southern Barbara's-buttons. Phenology: Late May-Jun. Habitat: Pinelands, Altamaha Grit outcrops, woodlands over ultramafic rocks. Distribution: Coastal Plain from e. GA south to ne. FL and Panhandle FL
ID notes: It somewhat resembles M. graminifolia in its linear leaves, but differs in the phyllaries acute (vs. subulate-acuminate), and flowering period (late May-Jun vs. Jul-mid-Oct).
