Myriopteris alabamensis (Buckley) Grusz & Windham. Common name: Alabama Lipfern, Smooth Lipfern. Phenology: Mar-Nov (-Feb). Habitat: Dry outcrops of limestone. Distribution: VA, w. NC, s. MO, and OK south and west to n. GA, AL, peninsular FL (historically), TX, NM, se. AZ, and Mexico (south to OAX).
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Our plants are apparently apogamous triploids.
