Stems: Stems slender, branched above, reddish, leafy below and hairy.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, sessile, linear to lance-shaped and tapered at both ends, to 2 1/2 in. long, toothed or wavy-margined.
Inforescence:
Flowers: Flowers in elongated terminal racemes; white (aging to pink); about 1/2 in. wide; consisting of 4 spoon-shaped petals, 4 green or pink-tinged strongly reflexed sepals, 8 prominent stamens and a style with cross-shaped stigma.
Fruits:
Comments: Flowers open in evening, wither by morning.
