*Pereskia grandifolia Haworth. Common name: Rose Cactus. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of South America.

Origin/Endemic status: South America

Other Comments: "The plant is extensively used for hedges in tropical America. It is planted by pushing cuttings into the ground, its spiny stems soon forming a capital barrier" (Britton & Rose 1937).
