*Phaius tancarvilleae (L'Héritier) Blume. Common name: Nun's-hood Orchid, Nun's Orchid. Phenology: Apr. Habitat: Hydric hammocks, bayheads, swamps. Distribution: Native of s. Asia, se. Asia, e. Asia, south to Australia.

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Taxonomy Comments: The generic issues involving Phaius and Calanthe are unresolved; we retain Phaius for now for our lone introduced species.

Synonymy : = K4, WH3; = Calanthe tankervilleae (Banks) M.W. Chase, Christenhusz, & Schuiteman — POWO; = n/a — FNA26; = Phaius tankarvilleae — NS; = Phaius tankervilliae (Banks ex L'Hér.)
