Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Kaplan et al. (2018) demonstrate that this taxon is the hybrid P. pulcher × oakesianus. I prefer to retain it at species rank, and not give it the "hybrid ×", for reasons discussed by Franck & Weakley in Weakley et al. (2018).

Synonymy ⓘ: = FNA22, K4, S, S13, WH3; = Potamogeton ×floridanus Small — Kaplan et al (2018); < Potamogeton natans L. — Wiegleb & Kaplan (1998). Basionym: Potamogeton floridanus Small 1903
