Prosthechea boothiana (Lindley) W.E. Higgins var. erythronioides (Small) W.E. Higgins. clade: clade B. Florida Dollar Orchid. Phen: Jul-Sep; Nov-Dec (-Oct). Hab: Epiphytic in tropical hammocks, buttonwood woodlands, and mangroves. Dist: S. FL; Bahamas.

ID notes: Called "Dollar Orchid" for the pseudobulbs, which are roundish (almost as wide as long), flattened, and about the size of a silver dollar.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Var. boothiana is more widespread, in the West Indies, Mexico and Central America.
