Stems: Stems sometimes strongly angled, occasionally branched, very hairy.

Leaves: Leaves alternate, on petioles with a pair of linear-lance-shaped stipules at base, divided into 3 velvety-hairy, oval to elliptic leaflets, these to 2 3/4 in. long and with conspicuous, netted veins.

Inforescence:

Flowers: Flowers in short terminal and axillary racemes, yellow, about 1/3 in. long, bilaterally symmetric, with typical pea-flower shape, including an erect "banner" petal and a hairy calyx tube nearly as long as the corolla.

Fruits: Fruit a hairy, compressed pod with blunt or short-beaked tip.
