not marked as a favorite taxon Rhynchospora harveyi W. Boott. Common name: Harvey's Beaksedge. Phenology: Jul-Aug. Habitat: Pine savannas in the Coastal Plain, seepage bogs in the Sandhills, bogs in the Mountains and Piedmont. Distribution: Se. Virginia south to ne. Florida, Florida Panhandle, and west to Texas and Oklahoma, and north in the interior to nc. Tennessee and Missouri.

ID notes: Rhynchospora harveyi has a general resemblance to R. grayi, but it occurs in less dry situations than that species and has smaller achenes (2-2.5 mm long vs. 2.5-3 mm long in R. grayi).
