not marked as a favorite taxon Rhynchospora sulcata Gale. Common name: Grooved Beaksedge. Phenology: Jun-Jul. Habitat: Limesink ponds (dolines), Carolina bays, other seasonally ponded depressional wetlands. Distribution: Se. NC south to Panhandle FL; West Indies (Cuba); Central America and perhaps n. South America. See Ungberg (2022) for discussion of its occurrence in NC.
