Rosa setigera Michaux. Common name: Ozark Rose, Climbing Prairie Rose. Phenology: May-Jun; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Dry-mesic to mesic upland forests and woodlands, prairies, bluffs, bottomland and riparian forests, stream banks, pastures, old fields, roadsides; nativity uncertain in portions of our area. Distribution: ME west to WI and NE, south to FL and TX.
