not marked as a favorite taxon Senega polygama (Walter) J.F.B. Pastore & J.R. Abbott. Common name: Bitter Milkwort, Racemed Milkwort. Phenology: May-Jul; Jun-Jul. Habitat: Longleaf pine sandhills, woodlands, woodland borders. Distribution: Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Minnesota south to s. Florida and Texas.

Taxonomy Comments: Two varieties have sometimes been recognized in this species (in Polygala: (var. obtusata and polygama).
