Sideroxylon celastrinum (Kunth) T.D. Pennington. Common name: Saffron-plum, Coma, Antswood, Downward-Plum. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Sandy hammocks, coastal strands, coastal rock barrens, rockland hammock edges. Distribution: Peninsular FL; s. TX, south through Mexico and Central America to n. South America; West Indies.
