Sporobolus floridanus Chapman. Common name: Florida Dropseed. Phenology: Jun-Oct. Habitat: Wet pine savannas. Distribution: Se. SC south to ne. FL, west to Panhandle FL. First positively documented for SC in 1995. Earlier attributions of S. floridanus to NC and SC (as by Radford, Ahles, & Bell 1968) were based on misapplication of the name to material actually representing Sporobolus pinetorum.
