Trillium underwoodii Small. Subgenus: Sessilia. Common name: Underwood's Trillium. Phenology: (Late Jan-) Feb-mid Apr. Habitat: Moist forests. Distribution: N. FL north to c. GA and c. and s. AL.
ID notes: The only erect trillium with the stems typically < 2× as long as the leaves (though sometimes elongating later in the season).
