Utricularia macrorhiza Le Conte ex Torrey. Common name: Greater Bladderwort. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Pools and ponds. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland) west to AK, south to NC, SC, MS (Schmid & Turnage 2024), TX, CA, and Mexico; also in e. Asia.

Taxonomy Comments: See Taylor (1989) for a discussion of the differences between this species and U. vulgaris of Europe and w. Asia, with which it has often been combined or associated as a variety or subspecies.
