*Verbena rigida Sprengel. Common name: Veiny Vervain. Phenology: Late Mar-Jul (-Oct). Habitat: Prairies, pastures, roadsides, disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of South America, distributed as an introduction from OK, CO, and AZ south to c. and s. TX and Mexico.

Origin/Endemic status: South America

Synonymy : = Ar, Fl6, K4, Meso4.2, NcTx, S, Tx, WH3, Nesom (2010b), O’Leary, Múlgara, & Morrone (2007). Basionym: Verbena rigida Spreng. 1827
