Yucca

Yucca gloriosa Linnaeus. Common name: Mound-lily Yucca, Spanish Bayonet. Phenology: (Apr-) Oct; Nov-Dec. Habitat: Dune, shell midden, also regularly cultivated and often persistent or weakly escaped around old homesites inland. Distribution: E. NC (Dare County) south to ne. FL and w. peninsular FL (Sorrie & LeBlond 2008). Populations in se. VA may be escapes from cultivation but occur in natural or semi-natural habitats similar to native occurrences in nearby ne. NC and may represent native occurrences (Virginia Botanical Associates 2019).
