Acrostichum aureum Linnaeus. Golden Leather Fern. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Mangrove swamps, brackish marshes, rarely inland in freshwater wetlands. Dist: FL peninsula (Hillsborough and Manatee counties on the west coast, and Palm Beach County on the east coast, south to s. FL); West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America; paleotropics.
