*Begonia cucullata Willdenow. Wax Begonia, Club Begonia. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Hydric hammocks, mesic hammocks, streamsides, floodplain swamps, disturbed places. Dist: Native of South America. Escaped or persistent in e. GA (Jones and Coile 1988) and AL (Woods & Diamond 2006), south to Panhandle FL, ne. FL (Wunderlin & Hansen 2004) and s. peninsular FL.

Origin/Endemic status: South America

Synonymy : = FNA6, K1, K3, K4, WH3; = Begonia semperflorens Link & Otto – S, S13
