Bulbostylis stenophylla (Elliott) C.B. Clarke. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills, dry pine savannas, Florida scrub, and disturbed sandy areas. Dist: Se. NC south to s. FL, west to w. FL; Cuba.
ID notes: In Bulbostylis stenophylla, the inflorescence is composed of a single dense cluster of sessile spikelets. The longest involucral bract is greater than 2 cm long, versus less than 1.5 cm in B. barbata, a non-native species.
