Corchorus hirtus Linnaeus. Common name: Hairy Jute, Red Jute, Orinoco Jute, Moralia. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Mexico, Central America, South America, and West Indies. Nativity in TX and AZ is disputed and uncertain.
