Eleocharis baldwinii (Torrey) Chapman. Common name: Baldwin’s Spikerush. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Bogs, pools, acid impoundment shores. Often growing in dense mats in very wet, saturated sandy firelanes or disklines in fire-managed habitats or other somewhat-disturbed wet, acidic, sandy habitats. Distribution: VA south to FL, west to AR and TX.
ID notes: Often proliferous.
