Hordeum pusillum Nuttall. Common name: Little Barley. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Roadsides, fields, pastures, ditches, disturbed areas. Distribution: Probably restricted to west of the Mississippi River a few centuries ago, but now present (and in many areas common) throughout a broad portion of the United States, from ME west to WA south to n. FL, s. TX, CA, and Mexico.
