Indigofera miniata Ortega. Common name: Coastal Indigo, Scarlet-pea. Phenology: Jan-Oct. Habitat: Dunes, dry disturbed areas. Distribution: S. KS south to s. TX, disjunct eastward in FL and (?) GA (where reported by Chapman 1883).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Infraspecific taxa have often been recognized within Indigofera miniata. Indigofera texana Buckley is sometimes included in Indigofera miniata, but is excluded here, following Lievens & Vincent (2023); it occurs just west of our area in c. TX.
