Iris fulva Ker Gawler. clade: Phaeiris. Red Flag, Copper Iris. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Swamp forests, wet hammocks, usually in shallow water. This species has become somewhat popular as a native wildflower in cultivation. Dist: S. IL, MO, and w. TN south to w. Panhandle FL, AL, and LA (introduced elsewhere).
