Lyonia ferruginea (Walter) Nuttall. Common name: Crookedwood, Dragonwood, Staggerbush. Phenology: Feb-May; Apr-Oct. Habitat: Dry oak and pine woodlands, Florida scrub, scrubby pine flatwoods, rarely pocosins, spodosolic flatwoods. Distribution: Se. SC south to sc. peninsular FL, west to Panhandle FL.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: See discussion under L. fruticosa. Villaseñor (2016) treats L. ferruginea as disjunct in se. Mexico (CHP, HID, OAX, PUE, VER), but these populations are treated by (Judd (1981) as L. squamulosa, a decision followed here..
