Nymphaea mexicana Zuccarini. Subgenus: Nymphaea. Common name: Banana Waterlily, Yellow Waterlily. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Sluggish or stagnant waters; scattered in occurrence and possibly introduced from farther south, but the introduction agents may well be wild ducks, such as canvasbacks. Distribution: Ne. NC south to s. FL, west to TX, also in sw. United States and Mexico.
