Leaves: Leaf single near base of stem (small bracts above), ascending, sessile-clasping, lance-shaped with blunt tip, 2-7 in. long, with parallel veins.

Flowers: Flowers 5-15 in a cylindric terminal raceme, on short, often twisted stalks; pale green to yellow or white; about 1/2 in. long; bilaterally symmetric; with 2 petals plus 1 sepal forming a small hood, 2 more wing-like sepals, and a subtly lobed lip-petal bearing a 1/2-in.-long spur.
Fruits: Fruit an ellipsoid capsule.
