*Pteris cretica ssp. cretica. Common name: Cretan Brake, Table Fern. Habitat: Limey rocks and soils. Distribution: Paleotropical, the original range unclear.
Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics
Taxonomy Comments: Another subspecies, ssp. laeta (Wall. ex Ettingsh.) Fraser-Jenkins, native of tropical Asia, is not known to be introduced in our area. See P. parkeri for the allotriploid taxon often treated as P. vittata var. albolineata.
