*Salix babylonica Linnaeus. Weeping Willow. Phen: Mar-Apr. Hab: Disturbed bottomlands, streambanks, roadsides, impoundments, other disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Asia. Note that many trees identified as S. babylonica may actually be one of two commonly cultivated hybrids, S. × pendulina and S. ×sepulchralis, with S. babylonica as one parent.
