*Solanum tampicense Dunal. Aquatic Soda Apple, Scrambling Nightshade, Aquatic Nightshade. Phen: Feb-Dec. Hab: Strand swamps, cypress domes, and other forested wetlands. Dist: Native of Mexico, Central America, and West Indies.

ID notes: Solanum tampicense is a scandent shrub to 3 m long, climbing by yellow, recurved prickles 2-8 mm long.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics
