Lachnocaulon beyrichianum Sporleder ex Körnicke. Southern Bogbutton. Phen: May-Sep. Hab: Scrubby flatwoods, flatwoods, upper margins of Coastal Plain doline ponds (sometimes under scrub oaks). Dist: Se. NC south to Panhandle FL and s. peninsular FL.

ID notes:Occurring in more xeric sands than L. anceps.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: One must imagine the age of plants in undisturbed scrubby habitats, the collective domes of rosettes sometimes well exceeding the size of dinner plates.
