Juncus repens Michaux. Subgenus: Juncus. Section: Graminifolii. Creeping Rush. Phen: Jun-Oct. Hab: Streams, ponds, lakes, ditches, wet depressions in flatwoods, cypress savannas. Dist: DE to s. FL, west to TX, north into OK and TN; Mexico (Tabasco); Cuba.

ID notes: Of members of section Graminifolii, this species is distinctive in forming low, dense grass-like carpets, often merely vegetative and submersed.
