Juncus subcaudatus (Engelmann) Coville & Blake. Subgenus: Juncus. Section: Ozophyllum. Somewhat-tailed Rush. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Bogs, mossy woods and other wet places. Dist: NS to NY, southwest to MO and n. AR and southeast to GA.

ID notes:Much like J. brevicaudatus but with lighter brown capsules and more branching inflorescence branches.
