Carex arctata W. Boott. Section: [26ff] Section 23c Hymenochlaenae. Black Sedge, Drooping Woodland Sedge. Hab: Northern hardwood and spruce forests, bog edges. Dist: NL (Newfoundland) west to MN, south to PA, w. VA, nw. NC (Long Hope Valley, Ashe County; Grandfather Mountain), and OH.
