Hab: Very nutrient-rich, moist cove forests in the Blue Ridge Escarpment region, over calcareous or mafic rocks (especially along the Brevard Fault). Dist: Endemic to the Blue Ridge Escarpment of sw. NC, nw. SC, and ne. GA.
