Carex timida Naczi & B.A. Ford. Section: [26kkk] Section 44 Phyllostachyae. Timid Sedge. Phen: Apr-Jul. Hab: Calcareous, dry to mesic woodlands and forests. Dist: Scattered and disjunct, from OH, IN, s. IL, and s. MO to KY, TN, n. AL, and AR.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Related to C. jamesii and C. juniperorum, from which it was separated by Naczi & Ford (2001).

Synonymy: = Ar, FNA23, Il, K3, K4, Tn; < Carex jamesii Schwein. – C, F, G, K1, Mackenzie (1931-1935)
