*Cyperus cuspidatus Kunth. Phen: Jul. Hab: Sandy fields, disturbed areas. Dist: S. SC south to FL, west to LA; New World tropics. Probably only introduced in the Southeastern United States.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Taxonomy Comments: A supposed record of Cyperus breviculmis from MS (Lauderdale County) (Kartesz 2021) is apparently a misidentification of Cyperus cuspidatus.
