Pteris cretica Linnaeus var. albolineata Hooker. Subgenus: Campteria. Section: Creticae. White-lined Cretan Brake, Variegated Table Fern. Hab: Limey rocks and soils. Dist: Pantropical, the original range unclear.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: Jaruwattanaphan, Matsumoto, & Watano (2013) provide evidence that var. albolineata (a 3x agamosporous taxon) is derived from hybridization of an ancestral diploid of P. ryukyuensis and a 2x agamosporous population of P. cretica var. cretica. As a triploid allotetraploid, it should not be treated as an infrataxon of P. cretica.

Synonymy: = FNA2, K1, K3, K4, SFla; < Pteris cretica L. – Meso1, S13; < Pycnodoria cretica – Fl1, Sf, WH3
