Cyperus refractus Engelmann ex Boeckeler. Reflexed Flatsedge. Phen: Jul-Sep. Hab: Dry sandy or rocky woodlands and forests, also in somewhat moister sites. Dist: NJ west to OH and MO, south to SC, GA, AL, and AR.

ID notes:Flowering material of the much more common C. strigosus is sometimes misidentified as this species; see Key ZD.
