Cyperus subsquarrosus (Muhlenberg) Bauters. Common name: Smallflower Halfchaff. Phenology: Jul-Aug. Habitat: Riverbank draw-down zones, other moist sandy areas, like seasonally flooded shores of artificial impoundments. Distribution: ME west to ON and MN, south to s. FL and TX; south into tropical America.
