Scleria elliottii Chapman. Broad-leaved Hairy Nutrush. Phen: May-Sep. Hab: Pine savannas, pine flatwoods, pine-oak woodlands, meadows, bogs, and clay-based Carolina bays, typically on loamy sands. Dist: VA south to FL, west to TX, MO, OK.

Taxonomy Comments: The descriptions of S. elliottii in S and of S. ciliata Michaux var. elliottii (Chapman) Fernald in F do not include the entity here treated as S. bellii.
