*Arundo donax Linnaeus. Giant Reed. Phen: Sep-Aug. Hab: Roadsides, waste dumps, other disturbed areas. Dist: Native of the Old World (most likely w. Asia) (Hardion et al. 2014).

Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia

Taxonomy Comments: Horticultural forms with leaves transversely striped white and green have been treated as var. versicolor, but are better considered as only a form or cultivar.
