not marked as a favorite taxon Dichanthelium angustifolium (Elliott) Gould. Common name: Narrowleaf Witchgrass. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Sandy pinelands and fields. Distribution: NJ south to FL, west to AR and e. TX. Distribution map needs re-evaluation.

Taxonomy Comments: Autumnal form most readily distinguished from D. aciculare and D. arenicoloides) by flat blades 2-4 mm wide (vs. involute blades 1-2 mm wide). Can be confused with D. consanguineum, which has spreading-pilose nodes and blades 10-15× as long as wide; D. angustifolium blades typically are 20× or more as long as wide.
