*Eleusine africana Kennedy-O'Byrne. Finger Millet. Hab: Disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Africa.

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa

Taxonomy Comments: There remains some doubt about the identity of the population discovered; reported by Werth, Zeng, & Baird (1997). Peterson, Romaschenko, & Herrera Arrieta (2015) support recognition of this taxon at species rank, as it is not sister to E. coracana.

Synonymy: = Peterson, Romaschenko, & Herrera Arrieta (2015); = Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn. ssp. africana (Kenn.-O'Byrne) Hilu & de Wet – FNA25, K1, K3, K4; = n/a – RAB
