Hab: Brackish and freshwater marshes, tropical strand swamps and sloughs, river shores. Dist: MD south to FL, west to TX, north in the interior to MO, and disjunct in Mexico (CHP, JAL, MIC, VER).

Origin/Endemic status: Native
